Health Minister Faces Pressure To Explain Disparity In Midlands Funding

Offaly has received significantly less than its midlands counterparts.

The Health Minister is facing calls to explain the huge disparity in funding allocated to midlands counties under the HSE's new Capital Plan.

The allocation for 2022 sees Laois receive €9.3 million and Westmeath get €8 million, while just €940,000 goes to Offaly.

Independent TD Carol Nolan - who describes Offaly's funding as "a drop in the ocean" - says she'll be pursuing the issue in the Dáil with Minister Stephen Donnelly.
