Sinn Féin will table the motion in the Dáil today.
A Longford -Westmeath TD is urging the Government to pass her party's motion on an emergency ban on rent increases and no-fault evictions.
Sinn Féin is set to table the motion in the Dáil this evening, which also opposes rent increases for Council tenants and those on the HAP scheme.
They state that just over 7,000 eviction notices were issued to tenants from January to March this year, up 51% on the same period in 2025.
Longford-Westmeath TD for the party, Sorca Clarke, says her own constituency saw rent inflation rise by 11.5% last year, while Offaly stood at 10.8%.
She says it's completely unsustainable.
