The Irish Examiner is reporting Aontú leader and Meath West Deputy Peadar Tóibín is considering running in the Midlands North-West constituency.
Eariler this week the Electoral Commission recommended Laois and Offaly move from Ireland-South, to Midlands-North West.
It would see the constituency increase the number of seats from four to five, benefiting from the addition of the country's 14th MEP.
There's also speculation that Fianna Fail Laois Offaly TD Barry Cowen wants to contest the European Elections.
