The Minister of State was hospitalised after falling ill in the Seanad last week.

Longford Westmeath Fine Gael Deputy Peter Burke lost his eyesight and voice during an address to the upper chamber.

He was taken to St James' Hospital and has since taken a number of tests including an MRI scan.
