RTÉ’s senior management are being questioned over presenter payments.
A Longford Westmeath TD is questioning if RTÉ's Director General is the right man for the role.
Kevin Bakhurst told the Oireachtas Media Committee yesterday that some presenters are employed by independent production companies and receive separate payments in addition to their on-air work.
Members of RTÉ’s senior management are being scrutinised after Derek Mooney was belatedly added to the list of highest paid presenters
According to Mr Bakhurst, three quarters of Mr Mooney’s role is made up of producing work, with presenting accounting for the remaining 25%.
