A midlands TD is proposing reforms to improve the transparency and accountability of Local Authorities.
Longford-Westmeath TD, Robert Troy, believes the Public Accounts Commitee should have the power to compel CEOs of county councils to appear before them.
The Local Authority Public Administration Bill 2023 would also see county councils having to reply to requests within a certain time-frame.
