Midlands To Be Hit With Over 100km Winds As Storm Kathleen Lands

A status yellow warning will come into effect for the midlands counties in the morning.

The midlands will be bracing for high winds this weekend, with Storm Kathleen on the way.

The region can expect outnreaks of heavy rain tonight while tomorrow will see scattered showers with some sunshine.

A status yellow wind alert will come into effect for Offaly, Laois and Westmeath, and the rest of the country at 7am tomorrow, and will end at 8pm.

Offaly's Cathal Nolan, from Ireland's Weather Channel, says high winds are expected in exposed parts of the midlands:
