Lowest Seasonal Temperature Recorded In Westmeath

February 2020 broke records for rainfall.

The season's coldest temperature was recorded in Westmeath.

Met Éireann says the mercury dropped to just under minus six degrees in Mullingar on the 19th of January.

Meanwhile, rainfall averages throughout Ireland were above average this past Winter.

February was a particularly wet month, with records broken at 16 of the national forecasters 25 principal weather stations.

The highest rainfall levels were recorded at Claremorris, in Co Mayo, where more than 578 millimetres was recorded this winter.
