Affected residents may be without water until at least midday today.
People in Laois may be experiencing disruption to their water supply this morning.
Residents in Portarlington West, as well as the Offaly side of town, and surrounding areas may be experiencing issues due to an interruption at a local treatment plant.
The disruption is expected to continue until 12pm midday today.
Works are underway to resolve the problem and affected customers are advised to conserve water where possible.
Irish Water is warning people to allow 3-4 hours after 12pm for their supply to return fully.
