Midlands Towns And Villages To Receive €2.4m In Regeneration Funding

Offaly will receive the highest amount in the midlands.

Over €2.4 million is being allocated to town and village renewal projects across the Midlands. 

€1.1 million is going to Offaly,  just under €800,000 to Westmeath and just under €600,000 has been allocated to Laois.

The funding will support public realm improvements, community spaces and village regeneration projects across the three Midlands counties.

Nationally 77 projects will receive over €24 million under the 2025 Town and Village Renewal Scheme.

Cathaoirleach of Offaly County Council, John Leahy says the money will provide vital works for the community in Kilcormac: 

Minister of State and Longford/Westmeath TD, Kevin ‘Boxer’ Moran TD says: 'This is a significant investment package that has been allocated to communities across County Westmeath under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme, supporting local regeneration, economic activity, and rural development.'

'The Town and Village Renewal Scheme continues to play a central role in strengthening rural towns and villages, backing projects that enhance quality of life, stimulate local economies, and support longterm community development.'

Sean Fleming Laois T.D. says: I want to thank the communities in Mountmellick and Ballinakill and Laois County Council for their work in preparing these funding applications which has now been approved by Government. I look forward to Ballinakill and Mountmellick progressing with these much-needed improvement works in their areas in 2026.
