A peaceful vigil is being held in the Midlands today for a man in Dublin who died after an alleged shoplifting incident.
The Offaly Africa Support Group and Tullamore for Gaza are collaborating for the event to remember Yves Sakila at O'Connor Square in Tullamore at 1pm.
It coincides with a national protest set to take place outside the gates of Leinster House.
Karen Finnegan from the Tullamore for Gaza group is one of the organisers of the vigil.
She says it's about reassuring affected communites:
