A message from an Offaly woman living in Sri Lanka is appearing on a billboard in the Midlands for Christmas.

Kate and her son Jackson will not be coming home for the festive period but wanted to send a message to her grandmother nonetheless.

The Vodafone billboard with the message ''Look Granny, I can stand on the board'' is being put up in Athlone.

It's part of their Christmas campaign to show that technology can bring families from around the world closer together.
