The Minister for Health says she's working on developing a closer working relationship between the three Midlands hospitals.
Jennifer Carroll MacNeill formally opened a new paediatric Emergency Department Extension at the Midland Regional Hospital, Portlaoise, on Friday.
She says both Tullamore and Mullingar hospitals are also perfectly positioned for potential Surgical Hubs, and that she'd like to see the three work together on providing elective care.
Minister MacNeill says they're starting to seriously consider it as a future plan:
