Minister Turns Sod At New Laois Library Today

She'll also be announcing a new capital works programme on her visit to Laois.

A new €5 million library will be officially launched in Laois today. 

Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Islands Heather Humphreys will turn the sod on the development in Portlaoise. 

The plan was initially put together back in 2013 when the local authority purchased the site, but work didn't commence until January 2020. 

Minister Humpreys will also announce a Libraries Small Scale Capital Works Programme at the event.
