A Midlands underwater recovery team made a miraculous discovery on Easter Sunday.

A couple's romantic boat proposal took a dramatic turn when their engagement ring slipped into the River Shannon at Victoria Lock.

Offaly Search and Rescue began searching the next morning with six volunteer divers using only scuba gear and their hands.

Despite a ban on underwater metal detectors, the team located the ring on Easter Sunday.
