An Offaly town is set to build on its links to a former US President.

Moneygall is set to be included on a new nationwide Presidents Trail approved by the Government, highlighting the Irish roots of 23 US Presidents.

Barack Obama visited the village during his first term in office in May 2011, as resident Henry Healy is his 8th cousin.
