Five year old Aaron Hussain passed away after the incident in Portlaoise on Saturday.
The Mother of a five year old boy who died after a collision with a car is speaking of her "deep sorrow" following the boy's death on Saturday.
Aaron Hussain was taken to Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise in a serious condition, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
A post mortem examination is due to take place.
Aaron's Mother, Irina Novikova, who runs a beauty salon in Portlaoise, shared her families "heartbreaking loss" on social media yesterday:
