A long-awaited, multi-million euro midlands library will be officially opened today.

The €7.5 million Portlaoise Library will be opened by Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys.

Minister Humphreys will also launch the ‘National Public Library Strategy,' which outlines 66 actions over a period of five years.
