A multi-national medical company is planning to expand its facility in the midlands.
Medtronic is seeking permission from Westmeath County Council for a new Research and Development office extension at its Cornamaddy, Athlone site.
The extension will have a floor space of 105 square metres.
The developer is also seeking permission to change the use of their existing R and D offices to a manufacturing area.
The multi-national company employs over 4,000 people nationwide, and has facilities in Australia, the United States and Italy.
A decision from the local authority is due by the 8th of May.
