Family, locals and fans attended the concert of pieces composed by the Edenderry Musician.
Music, faith, and community came together in Edenderry last night for a very special concert honouring one of Ireland’s most celebrated liturgical composers.
Fr Liam Lawton, recently awarded one of the Catholic Church’s highest honours by Pope Leo the Fourteenth for his contribution to sacred music, was celebrated at St Mary’s Church in Edenderry.
Some of the country’s best-known performers including Daniel O'Donnell gathered to perform Fr Lawtons compositions to a sold out church.
His twin brother Tom Lawton spoke with Midlands 103's Courtney Callaghan at the event and says the concert comes at an emotional time for Liam as he has been diagnosed with the rare neurological condition Progressive Supranuclear Palsy:
