Local authorities brought the issue directly to the Minister for Education.
Hundreds of people calling for a new autism unit in a midlands school, may have their wish as soon as September this year.
Over 1,700 signatures are in a petition that has been hand delivered to the Minister for Education Norma Foley urging the government to sanction an Autism Spectrum Disorder unit in Errill National School.
