New CSO Figures Show Decline In Births Registered Across the Midlands

Laois saw the highest decrease in the midlands.

The number of births registered across the midlands is down by 11%.

According to findings in the latest CSO vital statistics report, there was a decline of 16% in the number of births registered in the final quarter of last year compared to 10 years ago nationally.

In the midlands, Laois saw a 17% decrease, with the number falling by 11% in Westmeath and 2% in Offaly.
