Stradbally Fire Station will begin construction this year.
A new fire station in Laois will usher in a new era of Fire Officer welfare according to the county's Chief Fire Officer.
After a successful design phase for Stradbally Fire Station, a contractor is expected to begin construction on the €3.2m facility later this year.
It's hoped the station will be operational before the end of 2026.
