Anthony Tighe has been officially confirmed into the new role.
A newly appointed Garda superintendent is being transferred to an Offaly Garda Station.
Superintendent Anthony Tighe is being moved to Tullamore Garda Station, which is under the Laois/Offaly Garda Division.
His role is to oversee the Offaly Community Engagement Functional Area, which focuses on key areas of crime, preformance assurance and business services.
It comes under the An Garda Síochána operating model which came into effect last February.
