A new créche is coming to the midlands.
Westmeath County Council has given the green light for the two-storey facility in Cornamaddy, Athlone.
The development will include the provision of a number of classrooms, a kitchen, and a secure outdoor play area, totaling nearly 600 square meters in size.
A number of conditions have been attached as part of the approval being granted.
They include the developer paying a fee of over €18,000 to the local authority prior to construction commencing.
The créche will form part of a larger development in the future.
