The Durrow Digital Trails were recently launched.
The Durrow Development Forum and Durrow Tidy Towns recently launched The Durrow Digital Trails - three self-guided walking routes featuring the Durrow Heritage Trail, the Dunmore Loop Trail, and the Dunmore Woods Nature & Biodiversity Trail.
These mobile-friendly tours offer 45 points of interest accessed via QR codes and live GPS mapping. Maps can also be downloaded for offline use.
The Durrow Heritage Trail, which starts at the Heritage Map near Castle Durrow. This trail explores local history, historic landmarks, and the background of the planned estate village.
The Dunmore Loop Trail, 12.4KM starting at the map board in Dunmore Woods car park guides walkers through scenic loops, river views, flora and fauna and historic demesne lands near the River Nore.
The Dunmore Woods Nature & Biodiversity Trail is a shorter Biodiversity loop of 4.5KM and highlights local flora, fauna, and woodland ecosystems. This trail also starts at the map board in Dunmore Woods.
This project has received funding under the EU Just Transition Fund Regenerative Tourism and Placemaking Scheme for Ireland’s Midlands 2023-2026, administered by Fáilte Ireland. The project is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union through the EU Just Transition Fund.
