The local authority in Offaly are confirming a new site for the Edenderry Swimming Pool.
Offaly County Council is confirming a former OPW site as the location for a new swimming pool and leisure centre in Edenderry.
The site, purchased in 2022, is part of the Blundell Masterplan and was secured with just under €9 million in funding from the Large-Scale Sport Infrastructure Fund.
The new facility will replace the previous Carrick Road pool, which was destroyed by fire in January 2024.
The plans include a competition-standard pool, hydrotherapy zone, gym, and early learning pool.
