New Solar Farm Coming To The Midlands

It's operational lifespan will be 4 decades.

Plans for a new midlands solar farm have been given the green light.

Elgin Energy Services has received planning permission for the 10-year development of the site, which will be based on the Westmeath-Offaly border.

The solar farm will be constructed on a 21 hectare site in Lurgan while a near-two hectare area in Culleenagower in Moate will accommodate the provision of a temporary construction compound and client substation.

The project will have an operational lifespan of 40 years.

Planning permission was granted subject to 10 conditions, one of which states the developer must remove all infrastructure from the site after the 40-year period.
