The local authority says it's in the interests of public safety.
Offaly County Council has postponed the New Years Eve concert in Tullamore, due to health and safety concerns.
The event was due to take place in O'Connor Square, before it being relocated to Market Square.
But Fianna Fáil's Tony McCormack says health and safety officers have now deemed the site too hazardous.
Councillor McCormack, who first proposed the event, says it will be re-arranged into a summer concert in O'Connor Square next year:
