No Funding Guarantee For Midlands Road Upgrade

A midlands senator has been lobbying for the project once again.

There's no guarantee funding will be in place to advance a major road project in the midlands next year.

The government is facing repeated calls to upgrade the N4 from Mullingar to Roosky, plans for which were shelved February due to a shortage in capital funding.

Senator Micheál Carrigy has been lobbying for additional funding to bring the project to the planning phase.

But CEO of Transport Infrastructure Ireland, Peter Walsh, says while funding can't be guaranteed, it's a project that needs to be progressed:
