The number of electric vehicles on midlands roads is on the rise.
New figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry show there have been 646 newly registered EVs in Laois, Offaly, and Westmeath in the year to July.
This compares with 389 for the same period in 2024 - a 66% increase.
Nationally, just over 18,500 new electric cars have been registered, representing a 33.7% increase compared to the same period last year.
