The largest increase in the midlands is in Offaly, where the market rent price on average rose by 14.6% compared to the same period last year. The listed rent is now €1,158.
Rent prices in Westmeath remain the most expensive in the midlands, at €1,222 on average per month. This is an increase of 12.8% higher than the same time last year.
Laois recorded a smaller increase in rent than it's regional counterparts, seeing a jump of 10.9%. The average listed rent is now €1,169.
There were only 29 homes available to rent in the region on the 1st May, which is the lowest ever recorded.
