The latest figures from the Department of Health are painting a mixed picture of hospital waiting lists in the midlands.
Last month, the number of children on in-patient waiting lists in the region was down 13% when compared to the same period last year.
However the figure for adults across the Midlands Regional Hospitals in Tullamore, Mullingar, and Portlaoise is up 19%.
While the number of adults and children waiting over a year has increased by 40%.
