Just under 180 million of a total budget of 309 million has been drawn down nationally.
Local councils spent just under 180 million euro in active travel allocations last year.
However, it's below 60 percent of their total allocation of over 309 million.
Laois and Offaly are among the worst for using their budget. Neither reached 20 per cent of their allocation.
