Laois is yet to elect a new chairperson.

New cathaoirligh have been elected for Offaly and Westmeath County Councils.

It's a Fianna Fáil affair in both counties.

Athlone-Moate rep Aengus O' Rourke will take the reigns from colleague Frankie Keena in Westmeath, while Mullingar-Kinnegad's Aoife Davitt has been elected as Leas Cathaoirleach for the county.

In Offaly, Frank Moran will take over as County Cathaoirleach from Declan Harvey, with Tony McCormack the new Leas Cathaoirleach.

The roles of Cathaoirleach and Leas Cathaoirleach were formerly known as Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
