That's the call from Liam Brereton, of St. Brigid's Boxing Club in Edenderry, who says it can cost up to €400 for a volunteer to be trained up at the gym.
Ireland Active is also campaigning for the introduction of tax incentives for gym memberships, in a bid to promote exercise and reduce illness.
Mr. Brereton says such measures would allow his club to train more children:
