An Offaly church is refuting a image circulating on social media of prayer rugs hanging from the railings of their property.
The picture allegedly taken outside Tullamore's Church of the Assumption is gaining traction across platforms like Facebook in the past 24 hours.
In a statement to Midlands 103, the church is confirming that the social media post " is completely untrue and has no basis in fact."
It's asking the public to "not rely on or share this misinformation."
