An Offaly councillor says the county needs a training centre to accomodate proper apprenticeship training for upcoming projects.
That's according to Fergus McDonnell following a public meeting in Shannonbridge last night, organised by Independent Ireland and Futurecast CEO JJ O'Hara.
The company wants to zone land for a hub of fire testing portacabins and modular buildings, which could create 35 to 45 jobs.
Councillor McDonnell believes it's needed in the area since the demise of Bord na Mona jobs.
He says it will be a lifeline for locals if jobs were made through this industrial project:
