There's a role for AI in local government according to Offaly County Council's recently installed Chief Executive.
Eoghan Ryan is also a former Head of Planning at the National Building Agency.
Mr Ryan is unsure the incoming Planning Development Act is primed to deliver on its objectives of speeding up the planning process while supporting the delivery of much needed housing projects.
He says county councils should be thinking outside the box in the meantime:
