A new home for artists, writers, and performers in Offaly is heading into the planning stage.
The local authority has approved a proposal to convert Birr Courthouse into a creative hub, with the aim to apply for funding under the Rural Regeneration Fund.
The building has been under the care of Offaly County Council since 2021 and has so far cost €200,000 in maintenance.
