Offaly Domestic Violence Service Welcomes Landmark New Laws

The Dáil has approved a series of domestic violence laws, including Jennie’s Law and Valerie’s Law.

The families of two women who died at the hands of their partners are welcoming the passing of news landmark laws. 

A number of domestic, sexual and gender-based violence laws were approved by the Dáil last night - including Jennie's Law and Valerie's Law. 

They'll provide for a public register for those convicted of domestic violence offences, and the removal or restriction of guardianship rights from a parent convicted of killing the other parent of their child.
