Offaly Haulage Boss Caught Transporting Drugs Jailed For 14 And Half Years

He was sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court.

A 40-year-old Irish haulage boss, who transported cocaine and cash across Europe, has been jailed for over 14-and-a-half years in England.

Liverpool Crown Court heard, Thomas Maher, who lives in Warrington, but is originally from Co. Offaly, planned the transfer of drugs from the Netherlands to Ireland, via the UK.

He also admitted being part of a money laundering operation, involving almost €1 million in cash.
