Offaly Man Leads Calls To Drink Tea For MND Today

Ger Treacy is one of 400 people in Ireland affected by the disease.

An Offaly man is leading the calls for people to donate on Global MND Day.

55 year old Ger Treacy loved lifting weights in the gym before receiving a diagnosis for the disease last October, but now he struggles to lift a cup of tea.

The Clara man is one of over 400 people in Ireland living with the degenerative condition.

He's urging people to Drink Tea for MND today to raise vital funds for the Irish Motor Neuron Disease Association:

 

Midlands musicians are also helping to raise funds for the IMNDA.

Mullingar's Robert Mizzell and Simon Casey from Ballycumber are among a number of acts who are performing for an online stream tonight at 8 o'clock.
