Offaly Olympian Tears Up During Return To School

The Welterweight champion visited her old school this week.

Offaly's Grainne Walsh is reflecting on a school visit that left the Olympian in tears this week.

The national welterweight champion visited her old school in Ballinamere on Wednesday morning to be greeted with overwhelming support from the young students.

Walsh endured a rollercoaster battle with injuries and judges decisions to eventually make the Paris games, where she lost a scrappy contest in her first bout.

She says she knows how important it is to have someone to look up to for young people:
