Offaly Pharmacist Warning Of Shortage Of HRT In Stores

He has had to turn some customers away.

An Offaly pharamist believes there's a shortage of the Hormone Replacement Therapy as pharmaceutical companies are not producing it as it's not profitable.

Liam Butler from Haven Pharmacy Butler's is making the comments after the Institute of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists raised concerns about the shorage to the Health Products Regulatory Authority.

He says he's had to turn customers away. 

The HTR treatment replaces the female hormones in the body when it's not produced because of the menopause.

Birr's Mr. Butler feels the shortage could continue for the next few months:
