Offaly Returning Second Highest Positivity Rate From Covid Swabs

Tullamore in particular has a very high rate at its pop up centre.

Offaly has the second highest positivity rate for covid-19 swabs in Ireland.

Figures from the HSE show it stands at 11.9%, just behind Louth at 12.6%.

22% of people who took a test at the walk-in centre in Tullamore came back positive, the third highest figure in the country.

Only pop-up centres in Buncrana and at Tallaght Stadium returned a greater number of cases.

The figures measure up similarly to the full county breakdown.

Louth and Offaly are top of that table.

Laois is 6th, with one in ten swabs coming back as confirmed cases and Westmeath is 12th with a 9% positivity rate, according to the HSE.
