Offaly Sees Sharp Rise In New Home Prices

The prices are up 2.7% in three months.

The cost of a new home in Offaly has increased significantly in the last three months.

The latest Daft.ie House Price Report shows the median cost of a new house is now €339,000, compared to just under €330,000 in the previous quarter.

That's an increase of 2.7%.

New house prices have remained relatively static elsewhere in the Midlands - up 0.3% in Westmeath to €371,000, and unchanged in Laois at €370,000 euro.

The report's author, Professor Ronan Lyons, says there's been a marginal increase in the number of second hand homes available for sale:
