Claire Murray has been elected to the role for the Edenderry region.
The last time a Sinn Féin rep was elected into this seat was in the 1920 local election, and in those 126 years it was never a female from the party.
Cathaoirleach Murray is launching a short survey of 10 questions today, asking constituents to list their top 3 priorities.
