An Offaly TD says now is the time to give grants amid the ongoing housing crisis.
A new Vacant Above the Shop Grant is offering up to €135,000 to help turn unused space above shops into homes while keeping the ground floor in commercial use.
To qualify, applicants must prove ownership, show the building predates 2008, and confirm the upper floors have been vacant for at least two years.
