EU Just Transition Funding for STEM officers in the Midlands will run out at the end of the June.

It looks like Offaly County Council has found a new funding stream to hold on to its STEM officer.

Financing for the role for the four Midlands local authorities is set to come to an end later next month.

However Offaly TD for Fine Gael John Clendennen says he "thinks" the situation in his constituency will be resolved.

He says he's hopeful a deal will be reached over the loss of rates in the county :
